When photography becomes more than an activity and instead morphs into a gateway to alternate versions of life and ourselves, then it is ph-Alchemy.
Through my camera I strive to extract the hidden - yet to me, obvious - gems in people, things, creatures and all. It is my most heartfelt desired aim and hence, call my work Portal Portraits.
With a background spanning almost four decades in fashion, theatre, advertising, film & documentary production I have found my even keel in this form of storytelling. As a griot or a desert storyteller, I spin the tale as the moment dictates.

I had the privilege of being photographed by Mima in the midst of an extremely challenging period in my life that demanded of me to be brave, strong and determined. However, although I was excited to be photographed, on that day I was very intensely emotional and vulnerable.
Mima radiates energy, through her passion, to generate only the best. Spiritually, she connected with me and brought forward a picture that gave me hope - a picture of determination, tenacity, courage, and resilience.
This portrait opened many portals and doorways for me, enabling me to start over and rebuild my life from broken pieces. She named that portfolio of pictures "The Portal Portraits."
